Madeleine Dematteis Welch

Founder and Program Creator

Maddie Welch is a bilingual educator, musician and native Spanish speaker born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Early on in life she developed her interest in music, theater and languages. Maddie obtained her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and a Masters in Bilingual Education from Boston University. She then worked as a bilingual teacher at the preschool and elementary levels in Massachusetts for over 10 years. The mother of two bilingual children, Canta y Baila Conmigo® is the product of her passion for music, her vocation as a teacher and her personal commitment to transmit her language and culture to the next generation.

Business Development and Licensing Manager

In 2014, after offering just one session of CyBC in her center, Missy recognized the need for this program filled in the hearts of her families. That same year, Missy teamed up with Maddie Welch to spread the joy of Canta y Baila Conmigo® to the Music Together® community and to their families across the country. Missy works closely with licensees to bring the CyBC program into their centers. Missy also works with Music Together LLC as one of their Center Development Reps mentoring Music Together Center Directors around the US and Canada. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Performance, Missy also holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Barry University.

Tamara Marchel

Customer Service and Logistics Manager

Tamara is the newest member of the CyBC team and has been brought on board for her love of children, their development, and music. She is a former pastry chef who left the culinary world to pursue her dream of working with young developing minds. She is currently studying Educational Psychology at UMass Amherst. Tamara puts her passion for children’s education and Canta y Baila Conmigo® to work behind the scenes by making sure licensees and teachers have what they need to be successful in bringing language and music enrichment to the community.

David Piper

Music Producer

Dave has collaborated with Maddie since 2010, engineering and producing all of the CyBC music collections, and playing numerous instruments on the recordings. In addition to working on our upcoming collections, Dave currently teaches K-5 music at the Willard Elementary School in Concord, MA. He holds a master’s degree in music education from Gordon College, a Diploma from Berklee College of Music in Music Production and Engineering, and B.A. degrees in Music and English from UMass Amherst. Dave also performs on upright and electric bass with
